Computer classes at Samagra centre


Samagra is running a basic computer training program for the past 2 and a half months for girls. A total of 30 girls are part of this program which has been divided into 4 sessions. Most of the girls have previously never seen or used a computer, but now they are much more comfortable using it and are learning the basics. This program intends to build their confidence regarding it and also help them discover new opportunities in income generation.

Beautician Training Program



Samagra has been running a beautician training programme for the past few months. The students learnt how to apply bridal makeup and the fruits of the students' efforts can be seen in the pictures below.

English Tuition Program

Samagra is running a basic English learning programme for underprivileged girls, studying at government schools. This programme is being run in collaboration with DSSS (Deserving Students Support Society), Vasant Vihar, which has been working for the betterment of the underprivileged girls of government schools for many years. The programme consists of 65 students divided into 2 batches. Ms. Vandana who is a senior teacher at Guru Nanak Public School, Dehradun and Mrs. Neetu Singh who runs her own pre-school in Premnagar, Dehradun have volunteered to teach these girls. Stationery for this programme was distributed to all students by DSSS. In the photos below Ms. Vandana can be seen instructing her students about the basics of the English language.

June Yajna

The monthly Vedic Yajna was performed at Samagra-Kul on 2nd June 2014.  Samagra organizes a Yajna ceremony on the first Monday of every month. Mrs. Radha was the 'Yajman'(host) and all the students, Samagra family and a few guests participated in this ceremony. A total of 110 people were present at this event.
