Christmas Celebrations at Samagra


On 25th December 2014, Samagra's children and staff celebrated Christmas with great enthusiasm. A Christmas tree was decorated and a sports competition was organized for the children. Santa distributed sweets. Gifts and prizes were distributed as well. It was concluded with high tea.

New cutting & Tailoring centere started in Shastri Nagar Khala slum area.

We are happy to announce that Samagra is running its 4th consecutive cutting & Tailoring program in Shastri Nagar Khala slum. we have got over whelming response from under privileged women and girls it was started on 1st of December 14th and will be running for next three months. 25 Trainees are registered and taking keen interest in learning sewing tricks.

Second Death Anniversary of the late Mrs. Saharda Devi

 

The second death anniversary of Mrs Sharda Devi, reverred. mother of Dr. Pradeep Kumar Jivasu, the founder of SAMAGRA, was solemnly observed on Oct. 8, 2014. A Yajna was performed in the afternoon and 'prasad' was distributed. Five poor women were presented with pressure cookers and all the students of the Samagra school were prresented socks. A simple meal was served to all the participants and the students.

Jivasu's Birthday celebration at Samagra

Samagra celebrated Dr.Pradeep's and Sonia's birthday with the children from after school tuition classes and girls who are participating in the computer training , and the cutting and tailoring training programmes. Mrs. Suchitra Agrawal told the attendees about Jivasu's journey of life .Sweets were distributed and children were presented gifts.

Independence day celebration at Samagra




Yajna

Samagra family performed a Yajna in its premises on 12th August. Shree Ved Vasu Shastri was the priest and Swami Shivanand Saraswati, a sage was a special invitee who gave a lecture on "Real worship". Around 40 people attended this programme.

Certificate distribution at Samagra

Samagra ran numerous training programmes under the women income generation unit from April to July.
On 28th July, a cultural program was organized at Samagra, and certificates and gifts were distributed to the trainees.
Following training programmes were run in Samagra premises 
1. Computer training (Basic) - 50 students 
2. Beautician training - 25 women
3. Cutting and Tailoring in Nehru Gram Village - 25 women
A group of four medical students from Canada were the guests.They lit the ceremonial lamp and appreciated the work at Samagra.
