The closing ceremony of the 3-month cutting and tailoring program in Nehrugram center and Mohit Nagar center was held yesterday. 50 ladies had enrolled for the course,25 ladies each from each center. The Chief Guest for the function was Mrs. Geeta Gairola, State Director, Mahila Samakhya Project, Uttarakhand. The function started with a small presentation by Mr. Vijay Kumar and Mrs. Suchitra Agrawal, the Managing Trustee, highlighting the work being done by Samagra. Then a few bhajans were sung by 2 students. Then Mrs. Suchitra Agrawal explained the motive behind this course and asked them to assert their independence by standing on their own feet. Mrs. Gairola gave an inspiring speech to the audience present asking them to not give up and continue their training by sewing other people's clothes. Finally the ladies and girls who had successfully completed their course were awarded certificates and a sewing kit by the Chief Guest. Finally a 2-month beautician program was inaugurated by the Chief Guest.
