75th Independence Day Celebration at Samagra!

 75th Independence day celebration Samagra: We were so happy to see the SAMAGRA family after a long time. Anamika read a nice write up. Ms. Vandana spoke some motivational words. Our three students (Anamika, Khushboo and Hina) who secured 75%, 77% and 67% in class 10th were honored. All of them secured more than 80% in English. I read the life history of Amar shaheed Mahaveer Singh who was accused in the murder of General Sanders in Lahore during the independence war.

Everyone sang the National anthem. It was concluded with the high tea.

Papa ji's 88th Birthday Celebration

 Today, on the 88th birthday of my father-in-law, Shri Suresh Chandra, a small event was organized in Samagra (keeping in mind the prevention of corona). A Neem plant was planted by Papa ji, stationery was distributed to 20 children, prizes were given to the winners of the poster competition and Papa ji cut the cake and gave a party to the children. We all wish Papaji a long life.

Environmental awareness among children studying in Samagra!

The children studying in Samagra are given information about the environment from time to time. For the past two years we have been teaching kids how to plant saplings in pots or old plastic tin/cans at home. We bought some small pots from the market and told the children that we will give a pot to every child, in which the child himself will prepare the pot by mixing soil and manure and then plant a plant in it and every child will take care of that plant himself. There are some pots prepared by children on which some plants are growing today and are growing beautiful and beautiful.

Flower's Exhibition at Rajbhawan Dehradun.

 Samagra got an opportunity to exhibit its handicrafted products made by underprivileged women in a Flower Exhibition organized in the Governor's house on 13th and 14th March - 2021.  All the handcrafted items were very much liked by the visitors.

Eco-friendly bricks

 During Christmas celebration, Mrs. Suchitra Agrawal gave a talk on do not trash and save environment. She gave a demonstration to make Eco-friendly bricks with discarded single use plastic. They were promised to get incentive if they give us then bricks.

On 1st January six children with their siblings brought 8 Eco-brick and got pen and sweets as their incentive.

 Mrs. Suchitra Agrawal did an activity to make children aware for their environment. She demonstrated making of Eco-friendly bricks with waste plastic bottles and single use plastic which is being thrown in the garbage.

She provided bottles and collected plastic carry bags to the children. They were amazed to see that 500 M.L. bottle can fit in 50-70 carry bags in it.

Children were motivated to do this activity with their friends and were promised to get gift on every eco- friendly brick. 

 

Christmas Celebration

Christmas celebration in Samagra was not a so grant event due to Covid - 19 guidelines but we celebrated it with a small group of children and Samagra's staff.

Children decorated Christmas tree, sang Carol. Santa came with chocolates and sweets and distributed among all of us.
